To document my cooking and knitting experiments - hopefully many successes and few failures.

Frogged!

Feeling tons better after a really unpleasant cold that had me running to see the doctor for the first time in 2 decades - Zithromax and rest (along with an MD's reassurances) work wonders.

I frogged Mom's sock... I wasn't happy with the sock's ridiculous consumption of yarn or the density of the fabric, so I am moving up a tad to a 2.75 mm needle. Hopefully this adjustment will allow me to use a single skein of yarn per knitted sock. This is how it looked....

Here's a couple shots of the one and only Riley - one of her favorite spots is on top of the "Alienware" computer.

Crimson Lorna Laces Socks

I haven't mastered the act of "getting gauge" yet... it took 3 attempts at this before I decided that 80 stitches cast on would be the right amount for Mom's sock. It seems to be moving along fairly quickly, especially in comparison to my two previous pairs of socks.

I also downloaded Amy Winehouse's Back to Black album off iTunes. She's absolutely brilliant. Listening to her is like being in a timewarp... except there are enough new/fresh elements that it is fascinating to listen to her.

Socky madness

Currently on a sock rampage... my first sock EVER ... Tofutsies.
My workmanship is not that great, but I now know how to make a sock
I think it's pretty *neat*

Hello!

Hello, this is my attempt to document all my knitting projects and other superfluous activities.

So far I've knitted one simple purse using acrylic yarn (I know.. I know, BUT it was a FIRST project!) ....

one very cheerful purse made from Judi & Co's chyna berry raffia...

"Branching Out" made from an acrylic/mohair blend....

and I am currently struggling with creating my first sock. I'm thinking that being left-handed is hindering me slightly, but I will keep trying and/or frogging until I get it right.
